Autris Group is a multi-entity real estate development and property management organization operating in Panama, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, including the Veritas Village brand (Coronado, Atenas, Chiriquí, Playa Pacifica), Vida Verde Agroforestry, Veritas Alternative Energy, and Veritas RPM. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Finance Department, supporting dayto-day accounting operations across our group of companies. This role is ideal for a proactive accounting professional who is comfortable managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger data entry, and other financial activities across multiple entities in a fastpaced, growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable: verify, code, and enter vendor invoices; prepare payment batches; track due dates.
- Manage accounts receivable: generate and send invoices, monitor collections, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entity accounts.
- Code and classify bank account transactions to the correct GL accounts using historical transaction references as a guide.
- Support intercompany transaction tracking (Due to/Due from) across separate QuickBooks Online (QBO) company files.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close tasks, including accruals, reclassifications, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready digital and physical filing of accounting documentation.
- Support preparation of financial reports and ad hoc analysis for management as requested.
- Assist with payroll-related filings and compliance items (CSS, MITRADEL) as needed.
- Collaborate with the Finance team on Chart of Accounts standardization and data clean-up initiatives.
- Other financial related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable/receivable role.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO) or similar accounting software strongly preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. * Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working across multiple entities and currencies.
- Degree or technical certification in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively about discrepancies or delays.
