Lead Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Lead Accountant to head the accounting department of a construction company based in Panama City.

This is a key leadership role combining technical accounting expertise, regulatory compliance (especially with public bidding), and financial support across a growing business group.

🛠? Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the accounting team and ensure accurate and timely monthly closings.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and banking documentation.
- Ensure full compliance with Panamanian tax and accounting regulations.
- Manage financial documentation and requirements related to public tender processes (mandatory).
- Support cost control, financial planning, and audits.
- Improve and implement internal controls and accounting processes.
- Provide support to other business units within the group when needed.

✅Ideal Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of experience leading accounting functions.
- Strong knowledge of public procurement and tax compliance in Panama.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic thinker.
- Advanced skills in accounting software and Excel.
- Professional English required (minimum B 1-B 2).
