We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing financial activities, completing the full accounting cycle, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. If you have a strong grasp of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, we encourage you to apply.
Primary Responsibilities
Full Accounting Cycle
- Record financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts
- Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
- Reviewing monthly P&Ls
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
Financial Statement Preparation
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Ensure financial statements comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
Financial Analysis
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
- Review and process vendor invoices and customer payments
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Compile data for tax filing
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external audits
Stakeholder Engagement
- Ensure transparent communication between all relevant stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues that arise
- Proactively inform management of concerns or barriers to achieving objectives (e.g., financial results or meeting timelines)
Requisitos:
- Candidates must be Panamanian citizens or hold a valid work permit for employment in Panama.
- Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance. CPA certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and US GAAP
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Advanced-level English language skills.
- This role requires candidates to work onsite at our office in the Tower Financial Center.
